On June 22, 1941 Germany invaded the Soviet Union, launching four years of some of the bloodiest fighting in all of World War II. Roza Shanina, a young kindergarten teacher, answered her country’s call and became a sniper in the Red Army. In this presentation on the history of World War II on the Eastern Front, we’ll explore this fascinating period and see the war through Roza’s eyes.
